First day at School!

So this happened last week…

River started daycare. 🥺 It was (and still is) very hard for me. I'm getting used to it day by day :)

I always said I would not put him in daycare until he was at least 2, ideally 3 years old.

He started at almost 18 months.

I know we all have different opinions in regards to this but I do believe a child is not fully ready to go to daycare before 2. He’s better staying home with his caregiver. (My opinion)

But having to work, even though I work from home, is still a physical and mental load, take care of the house and not to forget: take care of myself?

And on top of that, being sleep deprived for 18 months 🧟‍♀️

I kept debating between babysitter & daycare and decided daycare because I do believe he’s an age he wants/needs to learn more than just play.

After tons of research and tours, we chose to enroll him in an in-home daycare, more like a little farm. They have horses, chickens, and a turtle.

River loves animals and I think it’s important to have this close contact with nature.

Luckily I have the option of starting this transition slowly. He’s going only 3x per week/ 3h per day. And will add more hours as we all feel he’s ready for it. I know this is not an option for most parents so I’m glad I can do it this way.

With this, I was again reminded that we need to be flexible. That we will make plans and those plans will probably change and that’s ok.

Just navigate this new course with love.

Sending love to all mamas out there who, like me, struggled with this process.
